Here’s how I see today’s pick six sequence, which has a carryover of more than $329,000 and could reach a total pool near $1 million by the time Race 4 opens the series.

Dealing With Weather: You should have 3 contingencies in place, one that has races 6 and 8 on the turf; one that has just the stakes in Race 8 on the turf; and one that moves both races to the main track. You may or may not want the same horses depending on surface.

Most Likely Single: #5 Angelic Score in Race 4. Yes, it’s the first leg. Yes, it’s tough to single and put all your eggs in the first minute of the wager. But forget emotion. Busting in Leg 1 or Leg 6 pays the exact same thing. You must remove the emotion and structure tickets as they are best built. The best single today to me is right off the bat.

Here’s how I see the sequence if ALL races remain on the turf:

    Race 4: Single 5

    Race 5: Use 7,1

    Race 6: Single 6

    Race 7: Use 5,6,2,8

    Race 8: Use 3,8,13

    Race 9: Use 9,11,12,3

    This scenario costs $96 on a $1 ticket (1x2x1x4x3x4)

Here’s how I see the sequence if NO races on the turf:

    Race 4: Single 5

    Race 5: Use 7,1

    Race 6: Use 6,9,12

    Race 7: Use 5,6,2,8

Race 8: Single 13 (best of the main track marathoners for Motion)

    Race 9: Use 9,11,12,3

    This scenario costs $96 on a $1 ticket (1x2x3x4x1x4)

Here’s how I see the sequence if Race 6 is off the turf and Race 8 remains on the turf:

    Race 4: Single 5

    Race 5: Use 7,1

    Race 6: 6,9,12

    Race 7: Use 5,6,2,8

    Race 8: Use 3,8,13

    Race 9: Use 9,11,12,3

This scenario triples the cost of the original ticket and becomes unplayable to me without enough convincing opinions to keep it affordable.
