Race 1: MAKIN MO LOVE (7) may improve with a class drop in this wide-open event. The GIACOMO filly has switch barns since her last start and has three works over the local surface. LIONESS LAHR (11) needs to get the job done after ten tries, but her last two starts have been the sharpest. She looks tough late in the stretch. CALL ME ANNA (5) raced third in the slop for her first time going route of ground. Filly gets a positive rider switch and could improve second time going route over a fast track.
Race 2: GOOD TICKLED (6) just missed in his last two starts going short on the turf. He’s raced here second twice against high priced claimers to be considered a player over the main track. JOE CAN GALLOP (3) was an impressive maiden winner on the grass at Saratoga. The colt has tactical speed and returns fresh with a sharp rider aboard. SQUADRON A (4) ran very well for the first time in a few months as he leads into the race in top form for a hot barn.
Race 3: BE NICE OR LEAVE (3) is a daughter of KITTEN’S JOY that broke her maiden first time out stalking a slow pace going a flat mile. Well-bred filly should be forwardly placed from the gate as she faces winners first time. FABULOUS MISS BEA (7) won easy her third time out taking on slightly easier company than she faced at CD and could move forward in this spot over the turf. TOO COOL (5) also won against easier field of maidens than most in this field, but runs first off the claim for a sharp turf outfit.
Race 4: PEGASUS STAR (7) returns to a longer distance with the added hood against a lower class of maidens. The colt raced fourth twice against maiden allowance foes, but needs to graduate so make sure the price is right. RAKETE (1) is a longtime maiden that was claimed for $25k when dropped first time tag last time out. He runs for sharp connections with consistent works. ALL INCLUSIVE (10) is lightly raced and runs with blinkers on with a sharp rider aboard.
Race 5: FLEET BEAT (3) rallied late to finish third in a quick paced race first start off a brief break and should move forward with one win and a second over the Keeneland’s poly. GUNG HO (6) appears to be the class of the race, but runs first time tag in his first start off a three-month layoff. TOO WILD FOR WORDS (1) won by several lengths in his latest and has inside speed to be the one to catch. The 6yo has solid form over the main track.
Race 6: MGALSAL (8) exits a key race, which he ran second behind the Bourbon Stakes winner, POKER PLAYER. The STREET BOSS colt improved with blinkers on in similar scenarios the last two starts. TROPIC OF ARTIE (12) took the lead from the rail only to get beat by recent Grade I winner, MY CONQUESTADORY, last time out. Rider Velazquez picks up the mount and should sit just off the pace from the outermost post. COV (4) flashed early speed before drifting inward down the stretch to finish third on debut. The ARTIE SCHILLER colt gets first time Lasix and should improve at second asking.
Race 7: GAL ABOUT TOWN (3) returns off a long break, but has been conditioning consistently in the morning for this spot to be dangerous from a top-notch stable. She is a graded stakes placed filly with tactical speed. BROWN EYE BLUES (7) has been sharp with her early speed over soft footing in her last three starts to be tough from the gate. GHOST FLOWER (2) seems to try hard every time she runs and should come flying late at decent odds.
Race 8: The Grade III Jessamine Stakes
ACADEMIC PROBATION (7) broke her maiden impressively from off the pace first time out. RICHIES PARTY GIRL (9) ran gate to wire to win a condition allowance race for a sharp 2yo barn. She has early speed with a powerful workout since her last start. KITTEN KABOODLE (3) lost by a length with a troubled trip first time out then held on for second in a slow paced race. She returns fresh and should be tough with a clean getaway.
Race 9: COOL C NOTE (1) leads into the race in sharp form with a win and a close second in his last two starts. He should be a solid threat on or near the lead in the finale. SMARTEN DESTINY (6) also should be a player with early speed. He has two wins over the track, but most victories come over the dirt. NIEDERZEL (10) needs to make a turnaround after a disappointing effort in his latest. He’s a big fan of the poly to improve second start off the layoff.
