Race 1: BROWNEYED BACHELOR (6) runs first off the claim for 24% barn and the 7yo has the ability to rate just off the pace. POLITICALLYCORRECT (4) goes for back-to-back wins over the local track against easier company. CANNON LUKE (2) has run well at the distance for a competitive stable.
Race 2: COVER UP (9) raced well at a slightly shorter distance on the turf, and barn wins at 23% off the layoff. DYNA’S RECOLETA (6) is bred well at the distance on the turf and gets first time Lasix. TRENSITA (4) could be a major stretch threat if ready off the bench.
Race 3: CANDY GRAN (3) recovered from a rough break to finish second and training consistently (CL) for a better effort at third asking, but first time on the dirt. TALE OF VERVE (5) should be tough from off the pace with a top jockey aboard. CALL SIGN (4) may like the added distance and sharp works to be ready (CL).
Race 4: C’EST BON (10) ran decent in his last two starts against maiden allowance foes. KITTEN’S ANGEL (2) has a solid turf pedigree and should be a stretch threat third start off the break. MIGHTY MOON (6) ran well at the distance last time out.
Race 5: FINNEGAN (3) runs for the high percentage Wes Ward stable (22%) with fast works. OUTWORK (5) also competes for a sharp 2yo barn (26%) with good works. MANTOVANI (8) has two quick drills in the morning.
Race 6: TOWN EXTENSION (9) has been knocking at the door at this level and should be tough once again. CLASSIC BREW (6) training well (CL) for a better effort at the distance on the turf and jockey Leparoux retains the mount. FT DAVIS (7) exits a bumped trip, which he was 6-1 odds at this level. He returns fresh and lightly raced at decent odds.
Race 7: KISSED BY A ROSE (3) ran a close second after a bumped start at first asking and should move forward second time out. GREELY’S STRIKER (6) has early speed as she makes her second start off the long layoff. MARQUEE CAL GAL (8) has a fast breeze to be fit and ready in her 4yo debut.
Race 8: INNOVATION ECONOMY (3) runs for a hot barn with a few solid efforts on the grass. PERFECT TIMBER (12) may need a race just like top choice, but he has class and three seconds at the distance. HEYAARAT (2) has the early speed and good form on the turf, but distance will be questionable as he makes his first attempt going this long.
Race 9: WONDERFUL REMARK (4) has fast works from the gate to be ready first time out. PROPOSITION JOE (9) has decent works from an outside post to be a player at the right price especially with a sharp rider aboard. IRON IN THE FIRE (6) could be tough from the Ward (20%).
