KEENELAND / FRIDAY, OCTOBER 4
Race 1: JoJo's Gal (6) is the pick. Wesley Ward is excellent with two-year olds and this one takes a class drop. Exacta boxes: 6-2, 6-5, 6-3, 6-4
Race 2: Christiesborntorun (10). The Ramsey/Maker combo figures to be strong again this fall and this one of several horses they claimed at Saratoga, no doubt with an eye toward winning another owner's title at Keeneland. And Christiesborntorun was claimed out of a particularly strong race. Exacta boxes: 10-11, 10-12, 10-6, 10-3
Race 3: Thundergram (2). Trainer Mark Casse's 2-year olds come ready to roll in the fall at Keeneland and this one was a beaten favorite last time at Churchill. Exacta boxes: 2-5, 2-7, 2-1
Race 4: Top Tier Lass (9). Julien Leparoux rides this main track as well as anyone or better and I'll pass close attention to any mount he takes for the Ramsey/Maker team. Exacta boxes: 9-12, 9-6, 9-2
Race 5: Professor Midnight (9). This one has a fitness edge, coming off a pair of marathon distance races, and that should the Professor well. Exacta boxes: 9-4, 9-1, 9-2.
Race 6: Lonesome Street (8). This one has back class and shows a good work for the second start off the layoff. Exacta boxes: 8-1, 8-6, 8-7
Race 7: One Golden Road (1). This is another Ramsey/Maker claim from Saratoga and what intrigues me here is that first start off the claim, this guy had to run against a strong inside speed bias, so his last may be better than it looks on paper. The '4' is the one to beat. Exacta box of 1-4-11-3
Race 8: WInning Cause (14). This may be too short for this one but he loves the Keeneland main track. Go Blue or Go Home is the one to beat and Reload is a live longshot for Shug. I'm going against the favorite who has never been on polytrack. Exacta boxes: 14-8, 14-3, 14-7
Race 9: My Conquestadory (7). It's this one or She's Offlee Wild for me and the '7' was so impressive in her debut win that she'll be hard to deny here. Exacta box of 7-10-3.
Race 10: Emerald Crescent (5). He likes Keeneland and he's in top form and that's a potent combo. Exacta boxes: 5-12, 5-6, 5-8, 5-2
Late Pick 4 play: 1,4 with 3,7,8,11,12,14 with 7,10 with 5,12
