    Kim Nelson

    Kim has been involved with horses all her life. She has worked with pregnant mares, prepping yearlings, managed lay-up barns, exercise rider, assistant trainer and has trained a few of her own horses. She is also very involved in the placement of retired thoroughbreds once their racing careers are over. Kim worked as a handicapper for the Daily Racing form for 5 years before starting her work with Keeneland.

    Race 1

    #2 Blutadda has early speed and a good shot to take this bunch gate to wire. She likes the distance and consistently picks up checks. #6 So Many Dreams has been in good form her last 2 races and she gets in light with the bug rider aboard. #3 Hot Wacs also likes the distance and form is good enough to suggest she lands a share.

    Race 2

    #6 Doc Almon has had a busy year with 10 starts 4 wins 2 seconds and 2 thirds. He has gotten a little break coming in to this one and finds a softer spot. Like him for the win here. #3 Teniente Coronel has been a bit camera shy this year with 9 starts and 5 seconds. Making his 2nd start for the Richard barn expect another board finish with these. #5 Hidden Candy is a consistent performer that fits with these.

    Race 3

    #3 Uno Mas Modelo was impressive in his first start winning by 5. Nice work over the Keeneland course preparing for this event. #6 Mo Tom battled back to win his debut effort and expect the expensive Uncle Mo colt to be competitive here as well. #4 Honour Camp boasts the best last Beyer figure.

    Race 4

    #6 Deliverance Day has won 3 races this year at this distance. He is also reunited with jockey Hernandez who was aboard for 2 of those wins. #4 Lucky Stranger is making a significant drop in company and his first start for the Richard barn. #7 Fabulous Union is making his 3rd start off the layoff. He brings 2 very nice efforts over the synthetic at Arlington. If he can transfer form to the dirt he could be dangerous.

    Race 5

    #4 Overtly ran a big race and just got beat at the wire in her last start. That gutsy performance may give her a slight edge here. #2 Calamity Jane comes over from the hot Casse barn. Her first effort was a strong one and she should be a player with these. #10 Hollywood Tomcat adds blinkers and Lasix for her 2nd start.

    Race 6 begins the late Pick 4

    #2 Etruscan hasn’t missed a check this year in 3 starts. The very well bred colt looks like he is in the right spot here to get his picture made. #4 Mesoma brings some really nice Beyer figures but has been off for almost a year. Still, worktab suggests he is well prepared for his return.

    Race 7

    #3 Lord Commander brings a bullet work to his event. Top connections bring him over and he looks ready to go. #7 Pow Wow Pal should improve off his last.

    Race 8

    #9 quality Bird outran his odds last out finishing 3rd in the Centaur stakes. He made a big late run and should show up sharp here. #4 Royal Song has been off since May “15 but barn is quite successful off the layoff. This first time gelding won the John Battaglia stakes in Feb this year and should love this spot. #1 One Step Salsa is undefeated in 3 starts and could steal this on the front end.

    Race 9

    #1 Hall o’Glory drops in for half of his last tag. His early turn of foot may prove beneficial in this spot. He has a decent effort over the dirt and like him for the win here. #2 War Ranger is making his first start off the claim for the Maker barn. Barn very successful with this type. #9 Shock ‘Em All is another on the drop and also has a decent dirt effort under his belt.
