    Kim Nelson

Kim Nelson has grown up with horses in Kentucky. She began her career with Thoroughbreds at North Ridge Farm in Lexington, KY where she worked with foaling mares and yearlings. She moved on from there to work for Carl Nafzger as an assistant trainer and exercise rider. After the birth of her daughter she changed careers to handicapping for the Daily Racing Form. Once the Daily Racing Form closed its handicapping department in Lexington, Kim was very fortunate to land a position with Marylou Whitney Stables. She is now the assistant racing and breeding manager for Mrs. Whitney.

    Race 1
#4 Cantinero is a consistent performer and this level of company should suit him. The Ward barn is quite successful off the layoff and this guy’s work tab suggests he is ready to win. #3 Shoot the Loop hasn’t visited the winner’s circle in quite some time but this spot does seem to fit his form. Pessin barn is having a good meet and expect this gelding to land a share here. #9 Dynamic Royal has a race over the track this meet and finished a respectable 2nd at this level. He should pick up another check.
    .50 Trifecta Box
#3 Shoot the Loop, #4 Cantinero, #5 Thatboathassailed, #9 Dynamic Royal
    Cost $12
    Race 2
#7 That’s A Kitten could very possibly give the Ward barn the daily double today. The Kitten’s Joy gelding just missed in his last out and has been turning in sharp works over the Keeneland course. #8 Kerry Washington is making his 3rd career start. He has a race over the track and is dropping a bit in price. #5 Mr. Swagger also has a race over the course and is making his 2nd start of this cycle. Like him for part.
    .10 Superfecta Box
    #5 Mr. Swagger, #7 That’s a Kitten, #8 Kerry Washington, #11 Kodiak Syd, #12 Call Me Trouble

#11 Quietdetermination is making his first start off the claim. A consistent sort and barn has a 27% win percentage off the claim. #12 Newfound Zapper has a race over the course and is dropping in for half of last tag. #4 Purely Boy is another fresh off the claim and form suggests he can be competitive with these.

#1 Laser Cat has 3 wins in 6 starts and all 3 came over the turf at this distance. #3 Jamaican Smoke has kept some pretty tough company in her 10 race career. She has good early foot and will be tough to catch. #9 Misszippityslewda hasn’t missed a check in 4 starts and expect her to be challenging the #3 on the front end.
