    Kim Nelson

Kim Nelson has grown up with horses in Kentucky. She began her career with Thoroughbreds at North Ridge Farm in Lexington, KY where she worked with foaling mares and yearlings. She moved on from there to work for Carl Nafzger as an assistant trainer and exercise rider. After the birth of her daughter she changed careers to handicapping for the Daily Racing Form. Once the Daily Racing Form closed its handicapping department in Lexington, Kim was very fortunate to land a position with Marylou Whitney Stables. She is now the assistant racing and breeding manager for Mrs. Whitney.

    Race 1
#3 Lincoln Law has a lot going on for him in this race. First time blinkers, hot jock Stewart Elliot in the irons, big Tomlinson number for the distance, a decent effort over synthetic last time out and decent odds. #2 Northeast Bound posted a good Beyer number last out finishing a strong 3rd with Maiden $40K. He has a real shot with these. #5 Squidalem ran o.k. last out at this level and looks competitive here.

#2 Northeast Bound, #3 Lincoln Lae, #5 Squidalem, #9 Succesful Brothers
    Cost $12
    Race 2
#4 L.A. Freeway is making his first start off the claim. Solid effort last out at Gulfstream and expect him to be tough here. #3 Choctaw Won has a really sharp work posted out of the gates here at Keeneland. Look for him to show some early foot. #3 Perdido Brew looked like the real deal 2 starts back but spit the bit last time. Depends on which game he brings, would keep him in exotics.
    .50 Trifecta Box
    #2 Choctaw Won, #3 Perdido Brew, #4 L.A. Freeway, #5 Tall Boy
    Cost $12
    Race 3
#1 Never On Time has a race over the track this meet and just gave it up in the lane to finish 4th. Returns with new owner and trainer and Albarado in the irons. #2 Slick Pardoned Me won his last out posting an impressive 80 Beyer figure. Tough old horse that will likely make his presence known here. #5 Gallant Eagle seldom misses a check and he is fresh for this one.

    Race 4
#5 Lemon and Honey turned in a game effort here last fall with similar. She is making her 2nd start off a freshening and she should be sharp. #10 Frazier’s Pegasus has a race over the course this meet and is dropping for half. Leparoux stays on board and she should appreciate this spot. #6 Holiday Drama has enough form to suggest she can be a player with these.
