Kim Nelson

Kim Nelson has grown up with horses in Kentucky. She began her career with Thoroughbreds at North Ridge Farm in Lexington, KY where she worked with foaling mares and yearlings. She moved on from there to work for Carl Nafzger as an assistant trainer and exercise rider. After the birth of her daughter she changed careers to handicapping for the Daily Racing Form. Once the Daily Racing Form closed its handicapping department in Lexington, Kim was very fortunate to land a position with Marylou Whitney Stables. She is now the assistant racing and breeding manager for Mrs. Whitney.

Race 1

#9 Darkest Hour’s last few races have been solid efforts. She is proven on the poly and looks to have a shot here. # 2 All By Chance likes the distance and Beyer number suggests she can land a share with these. #6 Cali Style has early speed and can probably hold on for part.

#5 Renowned is making her 2^nd start of the season and Leparoux stays on board. The Indian Charlie filly is well suited for the distance and the poly.#2 Scanning has a couple of races under her belt and should move forward here.#6 Nashindy is debuting for the Sheppard barn and has very nice works over the Keeneland track.

#5 Donate is fast out of the gates and could hold on the front at this distance. #3 Original Kitten is consistent, a winner on synthetic and keeps regular rider Bridgmohan in the irons. #9 Donna Getyourgun is making her 2^nd off a short break and can boast the best last Beyer number. She is also making a slight drop in class and looks good with these

Race 4

#3 Untethered was well beaten in his last start but broke his maiden in a big way the start before. A return to that effort could put him in the winner’s circle here. #4 You’re My Buddy has hit the board in his last 2. The lightly raced colt appears to be in good form. #5 Alexander Thegreat is making his first start off the layoff and with a new barn. Past form suggests he could get part. #6 Take it like a Man is dropping in class and recent work over the Keeneland course is decent.
