    Kim Nelson

Kim Nelson has grown up with horses in Kentucky. She began her career with Thoroughbreds at North Ridge Farm in Lexington, KY where she worked with foaling mares and yearlings. She moved on from there to work for Carl Nafzger as an assistant trainer and exercise rider. After the birth of her daughter she changed careers to handicapping for the Daily Racing Form. Once the Daily Racing Form closed its handicapping department in Lexington, Kim was very fortunate to land a position with Marylou Whitney Stables. She is now the assistant racing and breeding manager for Mrs. Whitney.

    Race 1
It’s hard to go against Wesley Ward’s charge in this one. He comes off an impressive win and gets the bug rider up for the 5lb weight allowance. Also like Cantonic making his 2nd off the layoff and English Council looks like he could hold on for part. Not a lot of value at the windows but probably try a .10 Superfecta box.
    $.10 Super Box
#7 Straight Town, #1 Catonic, #4 English Council, #5 Moving West, #3 Never On Time
    Cost $12

    Race 2
Favorites look hard to beat again in this race. Follow the Kitten is making her 4th career start and brings a bullet work. I do like the firster from the McPeek barn. She has a solid work tab and draws Leparoux to the irons. Radiant is the 8-5 morning line favorite but has failed to find the winners circle in 7 previous tries and could be vulnerable.
    $.50 Trifecta Box
#1 Artful Lady, #3 Radiant, #5 Share the Sugar and #6 Follow the Kitten
    Cost $12

    Race 3
Going with a horse with a little bit of a price here. Magical Moment had a couple of tries at this level during the fall meet and was unsuccessful but he is an old warrior that likes the surface and the distance. Thatboathassailed turned in a strong performance in his last start albeit with softer but should show up with a lot of confidence. He won at this level here in the fall. The chalk horse Get in Line has the best last Beyer speed figure but I question if he can repeat his last performance.
    $2 Exacta Box
#1 Thatboathassailed, #3 Get in Line and #6 Magical Moment
    Cost $12

    Race 4
With the rain coming we could see this race come off the turf course and for that reason I am leaning toward Rei. He looks as if he could handle the turf or the poly and should be sharp off his last effort. Professor Midnight has had the winter off but trainer George Arnold is always a threat at Keeneland and expect this guy to land a share. Big N Perfect has turned in 2 strong performances in 2 starts and gets Lasix for the first time here.
    $.50 Trifecta Box
    #3 Big N Perfect, #6 Kingston Jamaica, #8 Rei, #9 Professor Midnight
    Cost $12

    Race 5
Appreciating did not appreciate the dirt at Delta Downs in her last out but I think we can draw a line through that one and go on her Woodbine form. She also has a very sharp work over the Keeneland course and like her at 4-1. Irish Score was very impressive breaking her maiden last out and the Motion barn is quite good off the layoff. Miss Arrangement is making her 3rd off the layoff and looks good for part.

    $10 to win and place
    #6 Appreciating
    Cost $20

    Race 6
Maiden 3 year olds going 6 furlongs and leaning toward the first time starter Watery Moon. An expensive yearling purchase the son of Malibu Moon has been working steady. Appealing Alex leaves his blinkers in the barn this time and he may be well suited for the poly. A couple of races under his belt could set him up to boost the exotics here. H Town Brown is the early morning favorite.

    $.50 Trifecta Box
#3 Metro Dreamer, #6 Watery Moon, #7 H Town Brown, #8 appealing Alex
    Cost $12

    Late Pick 4
