    Kim Nelson

Kim Nelson has grown up with horses in Kentucky. She began her career with Thoroughbreds at North Ridge Farm in Lexington, KY where she worked with foaling mares and yearlings. She moved on from there to work for Carl Nafzger as an assistant trainer and exercise rider. After the birth of her daughter she changed careers to handicapping for the Daily Racing Form. Once the Daily Racing Form closed its handicapping department in Lexington, Kim was very fortunate to land a position with Marylou Whitney Stables. She is now the assistant racing and breeding manager for Mrs. Whitney.

    Race 1

#3 Bernie the Maestro looks too good for this bunch. The connections are extremely hot this meet and hard to look past him. #4 Union bowman looks 2nd best with #2 They Call Him E rounding out the top 3.

    Race 2

#7 Murphy’s Covert did not run very well in his first start off the layoff but expect him to improve this time. He gets the 7lb apprentice in the irons and should move forward. #8 Spartan King ran 3rd here in his last start and look for him to land a share again. #4 Proud Jared also has a race over the track this meet. He drops a bit in class here.

    Race 3

#1 Smittenwithkitten drops out of MSW and making his 2nd off the layoff. Connections are hot. #5 It’s My Passion has been away for 2 years but her form before the layoff suggests she could be competitive here. She is in good hands for the comeback. #3 Naughty Nightie should move forward off debut effort.

    Race 4

#7 Balthazar has been on the board in both his career starts. Rosario on board and expect him to show him the way to the winners circle. #1 E Pluribus outran his odds last time to land a 3rd place finish over the main track. He moves to the turf for this one and is a contender. #2 Storm Crossing is a firster from the Ward barn and gets the 7lbs off with apprentice jockey Davis.

    Race 5

#8 Tangled Sheets has a couple of wins over the Keeneland course and he has consistent form. He fits with these. #3 Rivershire steps up in class here but his Beyer numbers are competitive at this level. Albarado jumps on board and like this guy for part. #2 Purest Form comes off a nice win at Gulfstream.
