Kim Nelson has grown up with horses in Kentucky. She began her career with Thoroughbreds at North Ridge Farm in Lexington, KY where she worked with foaling mares and yearlings. She moved on from there to work for Carl Nafzger as an assistant trainer and exercise rider. After the birth of her daughter she changed careers to handicapping for the Daily Racing Form. Once the Daily Racing Form closed its handicapping department in Lexington, Kim was very fortunate to land a position with Marylou Whitney Stables. She is now the assistant racing and breeding manager for Mrs. Whitney.
Tapit Quick is making his 3rd start of this cycle. Looks like a horse ready to put things together. Albarado stays on board. Tiu is a career maiden and at 8-5 morning line have to try to beat. #7 Aripeka should improve off his last.
$2 Exacta Box
#2 Tiu, #6 Tapit Quick, #7 Aripeka
Cost $ 12
Evenly matched bunch, could be anybody’s race. Going with #6 Achaemenes. He won 2 back taking the field gate to wire and may get the opportunity to do that here. #9 Photo Shoot was well beaten last out but is capable of a much better effort. Third start this cycle and expect a much improved performance. #2 Prado Dash is making his 2nd start off a long layoff. Look for him to hit the board with these.
$.10 Superfecta Box
#2 Prado Dash, #3 Night Party, #5 Inflation Target, #6 Achaemenes, #9 Photo Shoot
#5 Pan Dulce was an easy winner 2 back for Md $35K. This looks like a good spot for her. #4 McCoughtry hasn’t been in the winner’s circle in a while but recent form suggests she can find a spot on the board with these. #7 Nowthatsalady broke her maiden in a big way last time out and could land a share here.
$10 to win and place
#5 Pan Dulce
#8 Overwhelming draws Rosie to the saddle and that should be a big plus for him in this race. An evenly matched bunch she is very good at reading the pace and placing this horse in good stalking position. #6 Saturday Launch has been camera shy this year but still has turned in some solid performances and looks like he could land a share. #4 Irish Sea has only 2 starts this year but his last was impressive and if he holds that form will be dangerous.
$.50 Trifecta Box
#1 Monastic, #4 Irish Sea, #6 Saturday Launch, #8 Overwhelming
#4 Jerry Love just missed last out showing significant improvement over the poly surface. #5 Pretty Syrie is a firster for the Motion barn. Filly by Street Boss should love the surface. #8 Queen Daenerys another firster that was an expensive yearling. Solid works over the course
