Race 1: LEGOMYBORREGO (3) improved at second asking last time out and can move forward for a high percentage stable with sprinters. GO TO WORK (9) is bred for speed, but works have not been very fast so tread lightly. Barn does win at 24% with first time starters. SIREN’S SECRET (7) drops in class and gets Lasix first time to improve at second asking. Sharp work from the gate on October 9th.
Race 2: ARC ABOVE (1) makes his second start off the layoff with a decent performance in his latest. He moves back to the polytrack, which he raced second here last spring. He should be on or near the lead in race lacking early pace. CHALICE (3) should be tough late in the race exiting a sharp performance against similar on the grass. ANY GIVE ROYAL (4) seems to handle the synthetic surface well and faced tougher in his last two tries.
Race 3: LOVE ME GOOD (1) is part of a solid entry in this race. She has good form going long over synthetic footing. She should be chasing her stablemate early. TRICOLETTE (7) competes for a barn that wins first off the claim at 33% and should be a threat down the stretch. NO FREE RIDE (3) leads into the race in sharp form, but moves up in class. Good enough to play at long odds.
Race 4: ZANE (3) broke his maiden at the distance on the grass and raced second on the poly going a mile and eighth. Consistent works to be ready off the short break. MAJESTIC BAY (4) was an impressive maiden winner at the distance last May, but we have’t seen him since and he runs for half the tag to watch the odds board on this one from top connections. MR. G.L.B (9) runs for a hot barn second start off the claim with a strong late rallying fourth place effort in his latest.
Race 5: PARTY STARTER (5) has turned into a sharp sprinter for the new connections and should be a serious threat with early speed going long. DOCTOR VICKIE LYNN (12) gets some class relief to increase her chances of breaking her maiden for a capable barn. Filly has a few solid efforts at the distance, but never been on the poly. DR. SPRINKLES (4) needs to improve greatly, but catches a soft field to do so as she tries two turns for the first time.
Race 6: CARSON’S CROWN (8) competes first time tag off a two-month layoff. He has a solid performance over the poly going 6 1/2f to be a major threat stalking the pace, but make sure the price is right. QUITE THE FACE (10) has two close finishes at the distance in recent starts at PID. E.M. MAXIMUS (4) needs to make a turnaround off a poor effort on the grass, but capable barn and some class relief should help his cause.
Race 7: CURMUDGEON (6) goes for three in a win and should appreciate the shorter distance. This powerful marathon horse has tactical speed and is the one to beat. HELICOPTER (1) loves this track and exits two solid efforts over similar surfaces. RUNAWAY BRUTE (10) tries hard at marathon distances every time he tees it up, but hasn’t beat top choice yet to play underneath.
Race 8: MALIBU YANKEE (7) exits a stakes race to take on easier third start off the break. She won at the distance to beat first level allowance foes around this time last year. SKYFALL (4) may struggle at the distance, but top-notch stable should have her ready to make a comeback returning to the softer footing. TABREED (6) has been a major player over several grass courses since competing in the states. If ready off the short break then should be tough turning for home.
Race 9: POINT TO THE WILD (4) has been running well at the low claiming level with two-second place finishes. Should be saving ground early with PID’s leading rider aboard. GOLDEN GALAXY (9) won her last start and leads into this race in top form for winning connections. GETTEM UP GIRL (1) pressed the pace last time going a flat mile and will cut back in distance as she runs first off the claim (27%).
