BUSY FRIDAY ON TAP FOR BREEDERS’ CUP HORSES AT KEENELAND
Team Valor International’s Animal Kingdom, winner of the 2011 Kentucky Derby presented by Yum! Brands (G1), is one of five horses pre-entered in next week’s Breeders’ Cup World Championships scheduled to work on the turf Friday morning at Keeneland.

Three pre-entered horses are scheduled for main-track works Saturday.

LEPAROUX RIDES 300th KEENELAND WINNER
Julien Leparoux, who has all but wrapped his ninth title as leading rider at Keeneland, recorded his 300th victory at the track on Wednesday. Leparoux won the first race on Fear the Kitten and the fifth race on High On Kitten. He reached the milestone when he rode Son of a General to win the sixth race. Members of the Keeneland jockey colony and Leparoux’s fiancé, Shea Mitchell, joined him in the winner’s circle after the race to commemorate the event.
Leparoux also won the 10th race on Thursday to record a four-win day. He has ridden three winners on three days during the meet.
A two-time Eclipse Award recipient, Leparoux is fifth on the list of Keeneland’s all-time winningest riders, behind Pat Day (918), Don Brumfield (716), Robby Albarado (444) and Shane Sellers (412). His 32 stakes wins here include the 2012 Fall Meet’s Stoll Keenon Ogden Phoenix (G3) on Sum of the Parts, Bourbon (G3) on Balance the Books and Sycamore (G3) on Kindergarden Kid.
Day won a record 22 meet titles, followed by Brumfield (16) and Steve Brooks (10).
Through Thursday, Leparoux has 22 wins at Keeneland, 11 more than runner-up Corey Lanerie. He is named on eight horses today, four on Friday and eight on Saturday, which is closing day.
In 2012, Leparoux has 162 wins and ridden the earners of more than $11.2 million.
Trainer Brian Lynch said Thursday morning that races in South Florida late next month may be next for his two stakes-placed runners from last week: Miami Deco and English Class.
“I am looking at the ($150,000 W.L.) McKnight (Handicap, G2 on November 24 on turf at Calder) for Miami Deco,” Lynch said of the third-place finisher in the Sycamore (G3) last Thursday. Owned by Susan and Jim Hill, Miami Deco was beaten less than a length by Kindergarden Kid.
“For English Class, I’m looking at the condition book for Churchill Downs but maybe the La Prevoyante,” Lynch said, referring to the 1½-mile Grade 3 grass stakes at Calder on November 30. “I always felt she would be better going longer like a mile and a quarter or more. I think she was a bit unlucky the other day.”
English Class, owned by Fred Allor, was caught late by Miz Ida on Friday in the second division of the Pin Oak Valley View (G3) at 1 1/16 miles on the turf, losing by a neck. ...
David Cohen recorded the first Keeneland victory of his career when he rode Alastar Thoroughbred Company LLC’s and Michael Valdes’ Santonio d’Oro to win the second race on Wednesday. Ken McPeek trains the 3-year-old Medaglia d’Oro colt, who won 1 1/8-mile maiden claiming race by 1¼ lengths in 1:55.58.
