Keeneland Fall Meet Represented by 30 Breeders' Cup Pre-entered Horses

A total of 30 horses that raced at Keeneland during the fall meet were pre-entered in the 30thBreeders’ Cup World Championships on Nov. 1-2 at Santa Anita. The event, which consists of 14 races worth a total of $27 million, drew a total of 172 pre-entered horses.

Among the pre-entered horses that were successful at Keeneland in October are Shadwell Turf Mile (G1) winner Silver Max; Juddmonte Spinster (G1) winner Emollient; Queen Elizabeth II Challenge Cup (G1) winner Kitten’s Dumplings; Dixiana Breeders’ Futurity (G1) winner We Miss Artie; Darley Alcibiades (G1) winner My Conquestadory; Thoroughbred Club of America (G2) winner Judy the Beauty; Stoll Keenon Ogden (G3) winner Sum of the Parts; Woodford (G3) Presented by Keeneland Select winner Havelock; JPMorgan Chase Jessamine (G3) winnerKitten Kaboodle; and Bourbon (G3) winner Poker Player.

Second in the Shadwell Turf Mile was 2012 Horse of the Year Wise Dan, who will face Silver Max in his bid for a second consecutive victory in the Breeders’ Cup Mile (G1). The gelding, who is based year-round at Keeneland, leads the list of Breeders’ Cup pre-entrants that continue to train here. He is joined by Judy the Beauty, Poker Player, Smarty’s Echo and Sum of the Parts.

Judy the Beauty will attempt to become the fifth consecutive winner of the Breeders’ Cup Filly & Mare Sprint (G1) to come out of the Thoroughbred Club of America. The other winners are Groupie Doll, the 2012 TCA winner; Musical Romance, second in 2011; Dubai Majesty, the 2010 winner; and Informed Decision, the 2009 winner.

$1 million Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf (G1): Bourbon winner Poker Player, runner-up Bashart, third-place finisher Bon Accord, fourth-place finisher All Cash.

$1 million Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf (G1): Darley Alcibiades winner My Conquestadory, runner-up Rosalind; JPMorgan Chase Jessamine (G3) winner Kitten Kaboodle; allowance winnerStreet Sailing.

$3 million Breeders’ Cup Turf (G1): Shadwell Turf Mile sixth-place finisher Skyring.

$2 million Breeders’ Cup Mile (G1): Shadwell Turf Mile winner Silver Max, runner-up Wise Dan.

$2 million Breeders’ Cup Filly & Mare Turf (G1): Juddmonte Spinster winner Emollient; Queen Elizabeth II Challenge Cup winner Kitten’s Dumplings and runner-up Alterite (FR) .

$2 million Breeders’ Cup Juvenile (G1): Dixiana Breeders’ Futurity winner We Miss Artie, runner-up Smarty’s Echo, fourth-place finisher Rum Point, fifth-place finisher Conquest Titan; Bourbon fifth-place finisher Medal Count.

$2 million Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies (G1): Darley Alcibiades sixth-place finisher Designer Legs.

$1.5 million Xpressbet Breeders’ Cup Sprint (G1): Stoll Keenon Ogden Phoenix winner Sum of the Parts, fourth-place finisher Gentlemen’s Bet.

$1 million Breeders’ Cup Turf Sprint: Woodford Presented by Keeneland Select winner Havelock and third-place finisher Spring in the Sky, sixth-place finisher Tour Guide; Shadwell Turf Mile 10th-place finisher Handsome Mike.
