Bet from Your Phone When You’re At the Track

When you come to the races, Keeneland makes it easy and convenient for you to bet using your smartphone or tablet.

  • No Waiting
  • No Window
  • No Leaving Your Seat
  • It’s Free

Visit Wagering Central, located under the grandstand near the finish line, and ask a BETologist to help you sign up for an account, help you fund it and even make your first wager. You can also pick up some great handicapping tips while you’re there—for novices and expert bettors alike.

Phoenix Room iPad rental. If you are seated in our Phoenix Dining Room, be sure to check out our new iPad rental program. One of our helpful BETologists will sign you up for the day and show you just how easy it is to bet wager online—not in line.  We can also show you how to use your own smartphone or iPad to bet.

Placing a Bet with a Clerk

When you are betting with a clerk, there are some rules we suggest to help ensure your bet is properly entered into the tote machine and that the customer lines move quickly.

  • State the Name of the track (i.e. Keeneland, Churchill Downs, Oaklawn, etc.)
  • State the Race Number
  • State the Amount of the bet
  • State the Type of bet
  • State the Number of the horse

Example: "Keeneland, 2nd Race, $7 to Win on Number 6."

Placing a Bet at a Self-Service Terminal

When placing a bet with a self-service machine, we suggest following these instructions.

  • Purchase a credit voucher from the designated machines or use a winning ticket.
  • Go to any self-service terminal.
  • Insert voucher or winning ticket and make your selections as prompted on the screen.

The machine deducts the cost of your bet from your credit voucher or winning ticket. If you win, cash in your ticket at a mutuel window or use it in the self-service machine.

Placing a Bet at the Drive-Thru Wagering Window

For fans on the go, Keeneland offers drive-thru wagering. For live racing, drive-thru betting windows typically are open from 8 a.m. until the day's feature race. On simulcast racing days, it is open from 8 a.m. until about 3 p.m.

Betting at a drive-thru window is the same as betting with a clerk at any mutuel window—except you never have to leave your car!

When you bet with a clerk, we suggest you follow these rules to help ensure your bet is properly entered into the tote machine and that the customer lines move quickly.

  1. State the Name of the track (i.e. Keeneland, Churchill Downs, Oaklawn, etc.)
  2. State the Race Number
  3. State the Amount of the bet
  4. State the Type of bet
  5. State the Number of the horse

Keeneland was the first racetrack in the country to offer drive-thru betting for its patrons.
