Four of the six sophomores going postward in Saturday’s Hutcheson Stakes (G2) at Gulfstream are graduates of Keeneland sales, highlighted by the season debut of the impressive Ever So Lucky. Saturday also marks the return of Keeneland sales grads and classic winners Shackleford and Ruler On Ice in the Grade 1 Donn Handicap, while Keeneland-sold Silver Medallion is featured in the Grade 1 Gulfstream Park Turf Handicap. |

When Algorithms scored a runaway win in the grade 3 Holy Bull Stakes, it stamped the son of Bernardini as a Kentucky Derby contender. It marked not only his first foray into stakes company--and off only a maiden win no less--but his first race beyond six-and-a-half furlongs. Algorithms will stay have to show he can reproduce that kind of run around two turns but there's a chance his personality as well as his pedigree could get him home. |
