Divine Park Colt Sells for $110,000 on Thursday at Keeneland September Sale

LEXINGTON, KY (Sept. 20, 2012) – Cromwell Bloodstock paid $110,000 for a colt by Divine Park to top Thursday’s session of Keeneland’s September Yearling Sale.

Consigned by Blake-Albina Thoroughbred Services, agent, the colt is out of Window Woman, by Skip Away. He is a half-brother to 2012 Grover (Bud) Delp Memorial Stakes winner Window Boy.

Keeneland sold 225 horses on Thursday for $3,937,500, for an average of $17,500 and a median price of $14,000. During last year’s comparable session, 291 horses brought $5,131,100, for an average of $17,633 and a median of $12,000.

The RNA, or buy-back, rate for the session dropped 50.72 percent to 8.54 percent. 

With one day remaining in the sale, 2,370 horses have been sold for a total of $217,976,500 versus gross sales of $220,318,600 for 2,539 horses sold during 11 sessions in 2011. Average price of $91,973 is up 5.99 percent from last year’s $86,774. The median of $50,000 rose 25 percent from $40,000 in 2011.

Ken and Sarah Ramsey purchased the day’s second-highest priced yearling, paying $90,000 for a colt by Artie Schiller out of Athena’s Gift, by Fusaichi Pegasus. He was consigned by Cara Bloodstock, agent.
