Four yearlings have sold for $1 million or more each during the early part of the opening session of Keeneland’s September Yearling Sale. Topping the session so far is the $1.5 million paid by Flaxman Stables Ireland for Hip No. 19, a filly by leading sire Medaglia d’Oro out of the A.P. Indy mare Flying Passage. Consigned by Gainesway, agent, the filly is a half-sister to graded stakes winners Hungry Island and Soaring Empire.
Miss Hollywood, Hip No. 80, a filly by Malibu Moon out of multiple Grade 1 stakes winner Hollywood Story commanded a price of $1.35 million from Northwest Stud. She was consigned by Hill ‘n’ Dale Sales Agency, agent.
Regis Farms’ Nat Rea paid $1.1 million for, Hip No. 110, a colt by Unbridled’s Song out of Grade 1 stakes winner Irish Smoke. The colt was consigned by Beduin Bloodstock, agent.
Coolmore Stud’s M.V. Magnier paid $1 million for Hip No. 61, a colt by War Front from the female family of 2013 Super Derby (G2) winner Departing. The colt was consigned by Claiborne Farm, agent.
