LEXINGTON, KY (Dec. 2, 2013) – Will Take Charge, a graduate of Keeneland’s 2011 September Yearling Sale, likely secured an Eclipse Award as champion three-year-old colt with his gutsy win over fellow Keeneland sales alum Game on Dude in Friday’s Clark Handicap (G1) at Churchill Downs. Will Take Charge made 11 starts during his sophomore campaign, winning the Travers (G1), Pennsylvania Derby (G2), Rebel (G2) and Smarty Jones Stakes in addition to the Clark. The Unbridled’s Song colt finished second by a nose in the $5 million Breeders’ Cup Classic (G1) on Nov. 2.

Keeneland sales alumni accounted for six graded stakes over the holiday weekend: Will Take Charge (Clark-G1); Stopchargingmaria (Demoiselle-G2); Royal Lahaina (Go for Wand-G2); Wine Princess (Falls City-G2); Bear No Joke (Kennedy Road-G2), and Global View (Generous-G3).
