LEXINGTON, KY (Aug. 28, 2017) – Keeneland September Yearling Sale graduates captured the spotlight on Travers Day at Saratoga on Saturday.

West Coast dominated a talented field of 3-year-olds in the Travers Presented by NYRA Bets (G1), winning by 3¼ lengths in a wire-to-wire performance. Gunnevera and Irap made the Travers a September Sale trifecta with second- and third-place finishes, respectively. West Coast’s win marks the eighth consecutive Travers won by a Keeneland sales graduate and follows stablemate and champion Arrogate in 2016.

On the same card, Drefong cruised to a four-length victory in the Forego (G1), while Practical Joke blew by rivals in the stretch to win the H. Allen Jerkens (G1).

In her Saratoga finale, Lady Eli thrilled fans with a determined victory in the Woodford Reserve Ballston Spa (G2). The multiple Grade 1 winner will be offered as a broodmare prospect at Keeneland’s 2017 November Breeding Stock Sale.
