DRF/NTRA Handicapping Challenge

Play in Keeneland's DRF/NTRA Handicapping Challenge on Saturday, Dec. 6 and earn a berth to the 2009 National Handicapping Championship in Las Vegas Juanry 23 and 24.
 
General Contest Overview:
ENTRIES
• Contestants must be at least 21 years old.
• Entry fee will be $150 per person with a maximum of three (3) entries.  Advance registrations accepted at the information window through Sunday, November 30 or mailed and postmarked by that day may pay a discounted rate of $135.
• There will be a limit of 500 total entries.
• All mail-in entries must be received by Wednesday, December 3, accompanied by a check or money order in the amount of the entry fee(s).  The mailing address is:  Keeneland Association, Inc., ATTN: Handicapping Challenge, P.O. Box 1690, Lexington, KY 40588.
• ATTENTION NHC TOUR MEMBERS:  It is the NHC Tour Member’s responsibility to notify Keeneland that he or she is a member of the tour.  The official entry form provides space for your NHC Tour pin number.

THE CONTEST
• The contest will consist of fifteen (15) different races from six (6) racetracks simulcast at Keeneland Saturday, December 6, 2008.
• Eight (8) races will be designated races.  The Handicapping Challenge Director will select the eight (8) designated races. 
• Seven (7) races will be optional races. The contestant will select the seven (7) optional races from contest-eligible tracks being simulcast at Keeneland that day with a scheduled post time up to and including 5:45 p.m. (ET)

DESIGNATED RACES
• The list of eight (8) designated races and contest-eligible tracks will be available at www.keeneland.com and posted near the Information Window on the second floor of the grandstand by 4:30 p.m. (EDT) on Thursday, December 4, 2008.

WAGERING INFORMATION/PROCEDURE
• Each contestant will be limited to one mythical $2 win wager and one mythical $2 place wager in each contest race.  Both wagers must be on the same horse. 
PRIZE MONEY DISTRIBUTION
Prize funds as published are based on 400 entries but will be adjusted according to the actual number of entries.  Prize monies will be distributed after verification of the results by our United Tote representative, Dave Robinson and our tournament director, Jude Feld.   The tournament director maintains final say over any and all discrepancies.  ALL money-winning contestants will be required to sign W-9 forms. Should technical difficulties occur and additional time is required, checks will be mailed within five business days.

3rd Place:            $4,000
4th Place:             $2,500
5th Place:              $1,500
6th through 10th Place:    $1,000
11th through 15th Place:   $400
16th through 20th Place:   $300
21st through 25th Place:  $250

Keeneland Handicapping Challenge Designated and Optional Race List
On Saturday, December 6, Keeneland will host its final Handicapping Challenge for 2008. The top three winners will earn a berth to the national handicapping contest in Las Vegas in January 2009.
The Keeneland contest consists of fifteen (15) different races from six (6) racetracks simulcast at Keeneland Saturday.

The eight designated races are:

Hawthorne 1st Race 2:35 (ET)
Calder 7th Race 3:03 (ET)

In addition, contestants must play seven (7) races additional races of their choosing from a pre-determined track being simulcast at Keeneland on Saturday with a scheduled post time up to and including 5:45 p.m. The eligible tracks and races include:
