LEXINGTON, KY (Aug. 25, 2017) – Keeneland September Yearling Sale graduates headline one of the strongest Travers (G1) fields ever assembled, counting eight of the 12 entries for Saturday’s “Midsummer Derby” at Saratoga. Among the alumni are Kentucky Derby Presented by Yum! Brands (G1) winner Always Dreaming, Preakness (G1) winner Cloud Computing, Haskell Invitational (G1) winner Girvin, multiple graded stakes winners Irap and Gunnevera, and the well-bred Fayeq, who is making his stakes debut.
Keeneland sales graduates are showcased throughout a blockbuster Travers Day card at Saratoga, many seeking an automatic Breeders’ Cup berth via “Win & You’re In” events that day, including:
Bowling Green (G2) winner Hunter O’Riley and Monmouth (G2) winner Money Multiplier in the Sword Dancer (G1), a Challenge race for the Breeders’ Cup Turf (G1);
- Graded stakes winner Eskenformoney in the Personal Ensign (G1), a Challenge race for the Breeders’ Cup Distaff (G1);
- Champion sprinter Drefong, Dubai Golden Shaheen (G1) and Belmont Sprint Championship (G2) winner Mind Your Biscuits and multiple graded stakes winner Tom’s Ready, each seeking a spot in the Las Vegas Breeders’ Cup Dirt Mile (G1) with a victory in the Forego (G1);
