Stonestreet Stables’ Electric Forest, front-running winner of Friday’s Hilliard Lyons-Baird Doubledogdare (G3), is headed to Belmont Park, according to Baldo Hernandez, assistant to trainer Chad Brown.
The stakes victory gave the Brown stable three victories on the day and increased Brown’s lead over Brad Cox to 9-7 in the race for leading trainer with four days to go in the meet, which ends Friday, April 26. Brown, who has one horse entered today and one Wednesday, is seeking his first Keeneland training title. Cox also has one horse entered today and one Wednesday.
Hernandez said Electric Forest came out of the race fine as did Three Chimneys Farm’s Guarana, a 14¾-length winner in her career debut in Friday’s seventh race.
“She is a nice filly and will probably go to Saratoga,” Hernandez said.
