On Friday, the 10th of 12 sessions of the 2019 Keeneland November Breeding Stock Sale, cumulative sales reached $198,257,400 to exceed the total gross of $197,851,300 from the 2018 November Sale, which also covered 12 days.
To date this year, 2,370 horses have sold, for an average of $83,653 and a median of $31,000.
At $77,000, Friday’s session topper is Upandtotheright, a half-sister to multiple Grade 3 winner The Pamplemousse and stakes winner American Lady in foal to Connect who sold to Hill ‘n’ Dale at Xalapa. The 3-year-old daughter of Creative Cause out of Comfort Zone, by Rubiano, was consigned by Lane’s End, agent, the session’s leading consignor with sales of $410,900 for 26 horses.
J & S Racing went to $70,000 for the session’s top-priced weanling, a colt from the first crop of Mohaymen consigned by James B. Keogh, agent. Out of Gayatri, by War Chant, he is from the family of Grade 1 winner Data Link, Grade 2 winners Kumari Continent and Roshani and Grade 3 winner Passion.
On Friday, Keeneland sold 202 horses for $1,941,400, for an average of $9,611 and a median of $6,500.
The leading buyer was K.O.I.D., which spent $86,500 for seven horses.
