Omaha Beach entered the 2017 September Yearling Sale Book 1 Bonus pool with his victory in the $1 million Arkansas Derby (G1) at Oaklawn on Saturday.
The Book 1 Bonus offers cash rewards to the seller (owner at the time of sale) and owner at the time of the race of Grade or Group 1 stakes winners sold as yearlings in Book 1 of the 2017 September Sale. Charming Syndicate was the owner of Omaha Beach at the time of sale.
The colt also earned 100 points to rank second in the final standings on the Road to the Kentucky Derby (G1) leaderboard.
Owendale, winner of Keeneland’s Stonestreet Lexington (G3), and Munitions, winner of the Prix Djebel (G3) at Maisons-Laffitte, earned $5,000 September Sale Seller Bonuses for Stonestreet Thoroughbred Holdings and Winchell Thoroughbreds, respectively.
The Keeneland September Sale Seller Bonus Program, initiated by Keeneland in 2017, offers cash rewards to sellers (owners at the time of sale) of horses sold at the September Sale that win Grade/Group 1, 2 or 3 stakes as a 2- or 3-year-old. Sellers receive cash rewards based on the following criteria: $10,000 Seller Bonus for your first Grade/Group 1 stakes win; $7,500 for your first Grade/Group 2 win; and $5,000 for your first Grade/Group 3 victory.
September Sale alumnus Lady Apple won the Fantasy (G3) on Friday at Oaklawn, the final prep on the Road to the Kentucky Oaks (G1), to secure 100 points and fourth place on the Oaks leaderboard.
