Keeneland September Sale Graduates City of Light, Bricks and Mortar Sweep Pegasus World Cups

Keeneland September Yearling Sale graduates City of Light and Bricks andMortar captured the weekend’s two spotlight races – the $9 million Pegasus World Cup Invitational (G1) and $7 Pegasus World Cup Turf Invitational (G1), respectively – on Saturday at Gulfstream.

City of Light romped by 5¾ lengths to win the Pegasus World Cup in his final career start before entering stud at Lane’s End Farm. Bricks and Mortar continued a successful return to the races following a near 15-month layoff with an authoritative win in the Pegasus World Cup Turf.

September Sale alumni won graded stakes at home and abroad on Sunday. Eclipse Award finalist Midnight Bisouopened her 4-year-old season with a victory in the Houston Ladies Classic (G3) at Sam Houston. Copano Kickingtook the Negishi (G3) at Toyko Racecourse.
