Keeneland September Sale Graduates Earn Seller Bonuses for Graded Stakes Wins

Keeneland September Yearling Sale graduates RoadsterOut for a SpinVekoma and Fancy Dress Party secured September Sale Seller Bonuses for their graded stakes wins this weekend. 

For Roadster’s victory in the Santa Anita Derby (G1), Keeneland will pay a $10,000 Seller Bonus to Arthur Hancock’s Stone Farm, the colt’s owner at the time of sale. Roadster also earned 100 points to rank fourth on the 2019 Road to the Kentucky Derby (G1) leaderboard.

Vekoma’s authoritative win in Keeneland’s Toyota Blue Grass (G2) earned a $2,500 Seller Bonus for Jon Clay’s Alpha Delta Stables. The 100 points awarded to him for the victory vaulted the colt into second place among the Derby point earners.

September Sale graduates Out for a Spin and Bellafina each earned 100 points on the Road to the Kentucky Oaks (G1) for their respective wins in the Central Bank Ashland (G1) and Santa Anita Oaks. For her victory, Out for a Spin secured a $10,000 bonus for Ann Backer’s Smitten Farm. Bellafina now is first among fillies in terms of points earned on the Kentucky Oaks leaderboard.

On Sunday at Keeneland, Fancy Dress Party won the Beaumont (G3) Presented by Keeneland Select and a $5,000 Seller Bonus for Douglas Arnold.

The Keeneland September Sale Seller Bonus Program, initiated by Keeneland in 2017, offers cash rewards to sellers (owners at the time of sale) of horses sold at the September Sale that win Grade/Group 1, 2 or 3 stakes as a 2- or 3-year-old. Sellers receive cash rewards based on the following criteria: $10,000 Seller Bonus for your first Grade/Group 1 stakes win; $7,500 for your first Grade/Group 2 win; and $5,000 for your first Grade/Group 3 victory.
