Jose Ortiz (winning rider of Electric Forest)
“She broke really sharp, and that helped me a lot out of the one hole. With the track being speed-favoring, I wasn’t afraid to go out there (to the lead). She relaxed very good (down the backstretch), but we picked it up pretty good. When we passed the sixteenth pole, she made the lead and stayed there. The filly gave me another run.”
Brian Hernandez Jr. (rider of runner-up Go Google Yourself)
“We left there running and saved all the ground. We just got outrun. From the eighth pole home, I thought was going to get past (Electric Forest) a couple of times. My filly ran hard; she just couldn't get past the winner. The fractions were reasonable for those types of horses. The two best fillies were one-two the whole way. The two best fillies were one-two the whole way and were able to (keep going after) turning for home."
Tyler Gaffalione (rider of 8-5 favorite and fourth-place finisher Golden Award)
“I really don’t think she cared for the track that much today. She kind of slipped a couple of times around the far turn when I started to engage in on the leaders. It really wasn’t to her liking. She pulled up good. Everything’s fine, and she'll show her ability next time."
