Two weanlings by Constitution – a colt purchased for $150,000 and a filly sold for $145,000 – were the high sellers of Monday’s sixth session of the Keeneland November Breeding Stock Sale.
Dailey Bloodstock purchased the session-topping colt, who is out of the winning Dixie Union mare Spikes and was consigned by James M. Herbener Jr., agent.
The filly, who is from the family of Grade 1 winner Colonel John, sold to John Cummins. Alliance Sales Agency, agent, consigned the daughter of the Tiznow mare Red White and Blu.
On Monday, Keeneland sold 253 horses for $7,413,700, for an average of $29,303 and a median of $22,000.
Total sales through six sessions of the 12-day sale are $176,476,400 for 1,410 horses, for an average of $125,161 and a median of $60,000.
Machmer Hall paid $135,000 for Monday’s top-priced broodmare, Dontwasteurpretty, a 6-year-old daughter of Unbridled’s Song in foal to Greenpointcrusader. Taylor Made Sales Agency, agent, consigned the mare, who is a half-sister to stakes winner Yes She’s a Lady and from the family of Grade 1 winners Pure Clan, Finley’sluckycharm and Sky Diva. Dontwasteurpretty is out of Wonder Lady, by Deputy Minister.
Lane’s End is the session’s leading consignor with sales of $1,031,000 for 27 horses.
Leading buyer Chad Schumer, agent, purchased 10 horses for $368,000.
The November Sale continues Tuesday at 10 a.m. ET. The auction runs through Sunday with all sessions beginning at 10 a.m.
