LEXINGTON, KY (May 2, 2013) – Ten three-year-olds entered in Saturday’s 139th running of the Kentucky Derby Presented by Yum! Brands (G1) are graduates of the Keeneland sales, headlined by multiple graded stakes winners Verrazano, Overanalyze and Revolutionary.

Keeneland Sales Grads Dark Cove, Bank of Burden Earn Stakes Wins

LEXINGTON, KY (April 29, 2013) – Keeneland-sold Dark Cove posted an upset win in Friday’s Elkhorn Stakes (G2) to mark a milestone eighth graded stakes victory at Keeneland for owners Ken and Sarah Ramsey, earning for them a gold tray as part of the track’s signature graded stakes trophy program. On Saturday, Keeneland sales alum Bank of Burden won the Dansk Jockey Club Cup at Copenhagen.

LEXINGTON, KY (April 26, 2013) – Keeneland sales graduates figure prominently among this weekend’s graded stakes entries, highlighted by graded stakes winner Hudson Landing, looking to defend his title in the San Francisco Mile (G3); Donoharm, seeking his third stakes win of 2013 in the Texas Mile (G3); and graded stakes winner Northern Passion in the Whimsical (G3).



Keeneland Sales Grads Score Grade 2 Wins in the US and Abroad

LEXINGTON, KY (April 23, 2013) – Keeneland sales alumni recorded Grade 2 stakes wins on both coasts and abroad recently:  Game On Dude took the Charles Town Classic (G2) at Charles Town; Lady of Shamrock won the Santa Barbara Handicap (G2) at Santa Anita; and Tableaux captured the Prix Noailles (G2) at Longchamp. Keeneland sales graduates Winning Cause, General Election and Pick of the Litter swept the top three spots in the Coolmore Lexington Stakes (G3) on Saturday.

LEXINGTON, KY (April 20, 2013) – Grade 1 stakes-winning Keeneland sales graduates punctuate the weekend’s graded stakes entries, highlighted by Game On Dude in the Charles Town Classic (G2), Lady of Shamrock in the Santa Barbara Handicap (G2), Pure Fun in the Coolmore Lexington Stakes (G3), Drill in the San Simeon Stakes (G3) and Golden Ticket in the Ben Ali Stakes (G3).


Keeneland Sales Grads Top Both Sessions at Tattersalls Two-Year-Old Sale in Newmarket

Keeneland sales graduates topped both sessions at the just-concluded Tattersalls Two-Year-Old Sale in Newmarket, England, on April 17 and April 18, with one setting a European record for a horse sold at a breeze-up sale.

On Thursday, April 18, an Elusive Quality colt sold for 760,000 guineas, or about $1.2 million, to Jamie McCalmont, setting a European record for a horse sold at a breeze-up auction. Out of the Miesque’s Son’s mare Gender Dance, the colt previously sold for $120,000 to Margaret O’Toole at Keeneland’s 2012 September Yearling Sale.

Keeneland-Sold Overanalyze, Frac Daddy Finish 1-2 in Arkansas Derby

LEXINGTON, KY (April 14, 2013) – Keeneland sales graduates Overanalyze and Frac Daddy punched their tickets to the Kentucky Derby Presented by YUM! Brands (G1) by finishing 1-2 in Saturday’s Arkansas Derby (G1).

LEXINGTON, KY (April 13, 2013) – Keeneland sales graduates top the fields for today’s two preps on the Road to the Kentucky Derby – Keeneland’s Toyota Blue Grass Stakes (G1) and Oaklawn’s Arkansas Derby (G1). Uncaptured and Rydilluc, both graduates of the 2011 September Yearling Sale, are the early favorites in the Toyota Blue Grass, while fellow September Sale grads War Academy and Oxbow highlight the Arkansas Derby.

Keeneland-Sold Verrazano, Beholder Continue March to the Classics

LEXINGTON, KY (April 8, 2013) – Keeneland sales grads Verrazano and champion Beholder scored impressive wins in the Wood Memorial Stakes (G1) and Santa Anita Oaks (G1), respectively, to earn 100 points each toward berths in the Kentucky Derby Presented by YUM! Brands (G1) and Kentucky Oaks (G1).
