Keeneland September Sale Grad and Champion Take Charge Brandi Returns in Saratoga’s Longines Test Stakes

LEXINGTON, KY (Aug. 7, 2015) – Keeneland September Yearling Sale graduate and champion filly Take Charge Brandi returns to the races in Saturday’s Longines Test (G1) at Saratoga. On the same card, fellow September Sale alumni V. E. Day and stablemate Wicked Strong, the 1-2 finishers in last year’s Travers (G1), are part of a stellar field entered for the Whitney (G1). 



Royal Ascot Stars and Horse of the Year Wise Dan Train at Keeneland

LEXINGTON, KY (Aug. 5, 2015) – While construction of temporary facilities for the Breeders’ Cup World Championships at Keeneland on Oct. 30-31 progresses and the main barn area is being prepared for the arrival of yearlings in the Keeneland September Yearling Sale, racehorses stabled in Keeneland’s barns on nearby Rice Road continue to train. Residents include several champions, Breeders’ Cup winners and graded/group stakes winners.

Keeneland September Sale Graduate Beholder Romps to Seventh Grade 1 Win in Del Mar’s Clement L. Hirsch

Keeneland sales alumni have won 9 of 11 graded stakes run to date at Saratoga

LEXINGTON, KY (Aug. 3, 2015) – Keeneland sales graduates dominated the weekend’s graded stakes, led by Spendthrift Farm’s two-time Eclipse Award winner Beholder, who  displayed her class with an easy seven-length win in the Clement L. Hirsch (G1) at Del Mar on Saturday. The victory marked the seventh career Grade 1 win for Beholder and increased her lifetime earnings to more than $3.6 million.

Keeneland September Sale Graduate and Champion Judy the Beauty Headlines Honorable Miss at Saratoga

LEXINGTON, KY (July 28, 2015) – Keeneland September Yearling Sale graduate and champion female sprinter Judy the Beauty leads entries for Wednesday’s Honorable Miss (G2) at Saratoga, in which she will carry high weight of 124 pounds. Three of the five Honorable Miss entrants are Keeneland sales alumni, including recent Winning Colors (G3) victor Street Story and winner Enchantress.



Keeneland Sales Graduates Sweep Graded Stakes at Saratoga

LEXINGTON, KY (July 27, 2015) – Keeneland sales graduates dominated opening weekend at Saratoga, winning all five graded stakes, led by Hard Not to Like in the Diana (G1) and Curalina in the Coaching Club American Oaks (G1). Uncle Vinny and Off the Tracks, both alumni of the 2014 September Yearling Sale, took the Sanford (G3) and Schuylerville (G3), respectively. Mrs McDougal, sold at the 2013 September Sale, won the Lake George (G2).

LEXINGTON, KY (July 20, 2015) – Keeneland September Yearling Sale graduate Gabriel Charles was an easy 3¾-length winner of the Eddie Read (G1) at Del Mar on Saturday despite having to swing wide when the field bunched at the top of the stretch.



Keeneland-Sold Sunset Glow Tops Entries for Sunday’s San Clemente

LEXINGTON, KY (July 16, 2015) – Keeneland sales graduates account for five of the nine sophomore fillies entered for Sunday’s San Clemente (G2) at Del Mar, led by Grade 1 stakes winner Sunset Glow. On Saturday at Del Mar, Keeneland sales alumni Gabriel Charles and Midnight Storm, winners of the 2013 and 2014 Del Mar Derby (G2), respectively, compete in the Eddie Read (G1). Keeneland sales graduate and recent Ohio Derby winner Mr. Z is the morning-line favorite for the Indiana Derby (G2) at Indiana Downs.


Keeneland Sales Graduate Walk Close Charges to Modesty Victory

LEXINGTON, KY (July 13, 2015) – Keeneland September Yearling Sale graduate Walk Close turned in a gritty performance to win Arlington’s Modesty Handicap (G3) by a half-length on Saturday. That same day at Los Alamitos, fellow September Sale alum Fantastic Style romped to a 3½-length victory in the Great Lady M (G2).



Keeneland Sales Alumni Favored in Weekend Graded Stakes

LEXINGTON, KY (July 10, 2015) – Keeneland sales alumni top the graded stakes entries on Saturday, led by Angels Flight Stakes winner Fantastic Style in the Great Lady M. (G2) at Los Alamitos; Central Bank Ashland (G1) and Longines Kentucky Oaks (G1) winner Lovely Maria, who returns in the Delaware Oaks (G3); multiple stakes winner Firespike, who carries high weight in the American Derby (G3) at Arlington; and Grade 2 winner Dramedy, cross-entered for both the Arlington Handicap (G3) and Stars and Stripes (G3) at Arlington.
