LEXINGTON, KY (Oct, 8, 2016) Cash Is King’s Cathryn Sophia, winner of the Kentucky Oaks (G1), and Three Chimneys Farm’s Carina Mia, winner of the Acorn (G1), headline a roster of 34 nominees for the 18th running of the $250,000 Lexus Raven (G2) for 3-year-old fillies.
The Lexus Raven Run, to be contested at seven furlongs on Oct. 22, also attracted the top three finishers from last month’s Prioress (G2) at Saratoga – the undefeated Lucy N Ethel, Dearest and Takrees – as well as Lightstream, runner-up in the Test (G1) and winner of this spring’s Adena Springs Beaumont (G3) here.
Nominations also closed this week for three Grade 3 stakes to be contested during the third week of the 17-day Fall Meet.
My Meadowview Farm’s Tin Type Gal, a two-time Grade 3 winner and third in the Sands Point (G2) in her most recent start, tops a list of 46 nominations for the 26th running of the $150,000 Pin Oak Valley View. The race for 3-year-old fillies at 1 1/16 miles on the turf to be run Oct. 21.
Ken and Sarah Ramsey’s Al’s Gal, winner of the Kentucky Downs Ladies Marathon and runner-up in the Beverly D. (G1), and Juddmonte Farms’ Suffused (GB), winner of the Glen Falls (G3) at Saratoga last month, are the marquee names among 40 nominations for fillies and mares for the 25th running of the $125,000 Rood & Riddle Dowager at 1½ miles on the turf to be run Oct. 23.
Michael Dubb, Sheep Pond Partners and Bethlehem Stables’ Wake Forest (GER), winner of the Man o’ War (G1) at Belmont in May and most recently second in the Northern Dancer (G1) at Woodbine, tops the list of 36 nominations for the 22nd running of the $100,000 Sycamore for 3-year-olds and up going 1½ miles on the turf on Oct. 20.
