Alice Clapham (assistant to Graham Motion, winning trainer of Quidura [GB])

“She’s always shown a lot of signs (of being good) from the first time we worked her. Everything’s worked out great.”

On Motion winning a fourth graded stakes during Keeneland’s Fall Meet

“It’s been unbelievable.”

Junior Alvarado (winning rider)

“I thought I had a great trip. She broke very good. She put herself right away in a nice position. I waited as long as I could. Turning for home, I put her in the clear. She gave me a nice run at the end. I didn’t think (the soft turf) was going to bother her because she had won (over good ground) before. I was hoping she wouldn’t mind it at all. She handled it fine.”

Brian Hernandez Jr. (rider of runner-up Linda)

“From the 14 hole we actually managed to work out a great trip right behind the eventual winner. Turning for home (the winner) just kind of outkicked us, but I thought our filly ran a big race for coming out of the 14 hole and for her first time in a stakes race. She stepped up gamely. I thought she was going to get there but with the soft turf, horses aren’t really making a strong late push. She ran well.”

Jose Ortiz (rider of third-place finisher My Impression)

“She broke really well. I wanted to cover her up a little bit but I wasn’t able to. The pace was so slow. I think I had a perfect trip, just got beat. On the backside when I was so close to the leaders I knew that I was going easy. I think she wanted me to pull her up a little and then make her run. When I pulled out of the (final turn), I thought I had a pretty good chance, but as soon as (the winner) passed me at the sixteenth pole I knew she was going be tough to pass.”
