Keeneland Cancels 2020 Spring Race Meet Due to COVID-19 Health and Safety Concerns
Dear Media Member –
We are sad to report that Keeneland has canceled its 2020 Spring Race Meet, scheduled for April 2-24, due to health and safety concerns surrounding the outbreak of COVID-19.
Additionally, Keeneland has canceled its April Two-Year-Olds in Training and Horses of Racing Age Sale, which was to be held Tuesday, April 7.
Due to these cancelations, Keeneland will not issue any media credentials until further notice.
If you have already received your media credentials in anticipation of the Spring Meet, they are not valid for access to the grounds at this time. However, we ask that you hold on to them as they will be valid for our Fall Meet. Parking hangtags issued for Spring Meet are not valid for the Fall Meet.
At this time, Keeneland’s grounds are closed to all non-essential guests and horsemen until further notice to mitigate the risk of exposure to COVID-19.
If you have any questions please contact Amy Gregory at firstname.lastname@example.org.
We sincerely thank you for your commitment to cover Keeneland and Thoroughbred racing, and we look forward to welcoming everyone back soon. Until then, Keeneland will continue to provide updates on its website at keeneland.com/COVID19.
