Constitution Colt Commands $1.8 Million

Dana Benhard paid $1.8 million for a colt by Constitution out of Grade 1 winner Last Full Measure, by Empire Maker, during Tuesday’s second session of the Keeneland September Yearling Sale. The price is the highest paid for a horse during the session as of 4 p.m.

Taylor Made Sales Agency, agent, consigned the colt, a half-brother to Grade 1 winner Valiance. His family also includes Grade 1 winner Lazy Slusan.

Keeper of the Key, a daughter of Quality Road, sold to Larry Best for $1.3 million during Tuesday’s second session of the Keeneland September Yearling Sale. The price equals the highest amount paid during the session.

Lane’s End, agent, consigned the filly, whose dam is the stakes-winning Galileo (IRE) mare Key to My Heart (IRE). She is from the family of Grade 1 winner A Z Warrior, Grade 2 winner Jojo Warrior, Grade 3 winner E Z Warrior and stakes winner J Z Warrior.

A daughter of Gun Runner who is a full sister to recent Prioress (G2) winner Wicked Halo, sold to Richard Knight Bloodstock, agent, for $1.1 million during Tuesday’s second session of the Keeneland September Yearling Sale.

Gainesway, agent, consigned the filly, who is out of Grade 2 winner Just Wicked, by Tapit.

Richard Knight Bloodstock, agent, paid $1.05 million for a filly by Justify less than two hours after the start of today’s second session of the Keeneland September Yearling Sale.

Consigned by Ashview Farm, agent, the filly is out of stakes-placed winner Fully Living, by Unbridled’s Song. She is from the family of champion Halfbridled.

A colt by Constitution, who is a half-brother to Grade 1 winner Kimari, was the second horse in the ring of Tuesday’s second session of the Keeneland September Yearling Sale and commanded a bid of $1.3 million from Richard Knight Bloodstock, agent.

Highgate Sales, agent, consigned the colt, whose dam is Grade 3 winner Cozze Up Lady, by Cozzene.
