April 21, 2022

BHMFR’s homebred California invader Disappearing Act swept past favored Gladys at the eighth pole and went on to win Thursday’s featured $120,000 Shamrock Glen Purse for fillies and mares by 1¼ lengths over Flanigan’s Cove. (Click here for a video of the race.)

Trained by Richard Baltas and ridden by Flavien Prat, Disappearing Act covered the mile and a half on a turf course rated as good in 2:29.40.

Disappearing Act is a 5-year-old Kentucky-bred daughter of Magician (IRE) out of the Congrats mare Felicidades. The victory improved her record to 14-3-4-1 and boosted her earnings to $216,133 with Thursday’s $70,680 check.

Disappearing Act rewarded her backers with payoffs of $8.20, $4.20 and $3.20. Flanigan’s Cove, ridden by Joel Rosario, returned $4.80 and $3.60 and finished a neck in front of Fate of Ophelia, who paid $4.40 to show under Irad Ortiz Jr.
