4th race – (8) Pilot Episode (A) took a step forward and was second best. Gets a maiden win here. (3) Snicket debuts for Clement and is worth a look. (4) Saratoga Affair makes her first start for Chad and should be a contender. (1) The Girl Herself looks like another talented firster in this field. Betting strategy: 8 to win, place. Exacta box: 1-3-4-8. Doubles: 1-3-4-8 with 2-5-6-7.

5th race – (7) Heir Ball (B) reared at the start and rallied nicely to take third. Should make amends here. (5) Speed Star drops to a level where she should be a contender. (6) Bright Venezuelan will welcome a return to turf. (2) Blue Magic should be a force at this level. Betting strategy: 7 to win, place. Exacta box: 2-5-6-7.

7th race – (3) Combination (A) seeks a fourth straight win and should be hard to deny. (5) Desert General (B) missed by a head in a solid effort and should be the main threat. (10) Karen’s Cove was third and second in his last two starts and belongs in the exotics. (7) Ray’swarrior may bounce back here off the claim. Betting strategy: 3 to win, place. Exacta box: 3-5-7-10.

9th race – (6) Blue Blue Ice makes her first start after the claim by Sweezey and deserves top billing. (2) Merseyside was a game second last time and should be the main rival. (1) Bion Magic is fresh and could be tough to catch from the rail. (5) Cory Gal will be a main player if she can duplicate her last try. Betting strategy: 6 to win, place.  Exacta box: 1-2-5-6. Doubles: 1-2-5-6 with 2-6-7-8.

10th race – (2) Sir Seamus (C) dropped from 6-5 to 3-5 and won sharply on the front end. Can make it two in a row here. (7) Brasstown flopped on a wet track and may rebound on a dry surface. (6) Speed Gracer ships in from Tampa and figures to be a factor here. (8) Bold Paynter will be a threat in the final furlong. Betting strategy: 2 to win, place.  Exacta box: 2-6-7-8.
