Hot List Key:

A : A preferred horse to watch                   B: Secondary horse to watch
*C: Went down 2 or more betting notches in the final 3 minutes and finished 1st through 3rd
*D: Went down 2 or more betting notches and finished 4th or worse
* - 4 or more betting notches if 11-1 or more.

2nd race – (2) Lime is a 2-year-old from Ward who most likely would have debuted at Keeneland. Let’s see if Ward will be as successful in Florida and he usually is in Kentucky. (7) Pretzel seems ready for a nice effort in her debut. (1) Awesome View is a threat from the rail. (8) Quinoa Tifah has put in some bullet works for this. Betting strategy: 2 to win, place. Exacta box: 1-2-7-8.

5th race – (11) Summer in the City stretches out and drops into a claimer after a mediocre effort and should prove best here. (2) Joker Lady got off to a tardy start and didn’t fire. Might benefit from that experience and turn in a better showing on turf. (1) Our Fantasy drops a notch and may be tough to catch. (5) Wicked Mercury could grab a share of the purse. Betting strategy: 11 to win, place. Exacta box: 1-2-5-11.

7th race - (1) K W Captain Hook drops into a claimer after flopping in a stakes and a sharp work indicates he’ll be more competitive today. (6) Big Hambone steps up but seems to fit in well here. (3) January Won returns from a layoff in a claimer and could be a contender here. (2) Holy Muchacho returns to a claimer and could perk up. Betting strategy: 1 to win, place. Exacta box: 1-2-3-6.

9th race – (6) R Mercedes Boy bounced in a stakes after a huge effort. Returns from a freshening and seems to be ready for a big effort. (4) Silverly Enough comes off a sharp victory and should be equally effective at this level. (2) Fast Loaded was a game third in a stakes and will be a major factor here. (1) Cajun Brother won his debut and deserves consideration. Betting strategy: 6 to win, place. Exacta box: 1-2-4-6.

11th race – (7) French Quarter (C) dropped from 6-5 to 4-5 then showed early speed and held on to win. Drops a notch and can make it two in a row. (1) Silent Tiger was second last time and should appreciate the shorter distance. (10) Li’l Meatball might wake up here. (9) Elusive Ro should be a main contender at this level. Betting strategy: 7 to win, place.  Exacta box: 1-7-9-10.
