January Sale’s Tuesday Session Ends with Noteworthy Sales

Enaya Alraab, Inflamed and Pomeroys Pistol – all supplemented to Keeneland’s January Horses of All Ages Sale – sold for $640,000, $525,000 and $475,000, respectively, near the conclusion of Tuesday’s second session of the auction.

James Schenck, agent, purchased Enaya Alrabb, a Grade 1-placed, 4-year-old daughter of Uncle Mo from the family of Horse of the Year Rachel Alexandra. She was consigned by Paramount Sales, agent, and cataloged as broodmare prospect.

With the sale, Enaya Alraab becomes the January Sale’s highest-priced horse to date. The auction runs through Friday.

Shadai Farm bought Inflamed, dam of 2019 Eclipse Award finalist Mo Forza. The 10-year-old daughter of Unusual Heat, who is in foal to Tapiture, was consigned by Glen Hill Farm.

Mike Ryan, agent, purchased Pomeroys Pistol, dam of 2019 Grade 2 winner Thousand Words. The 12-year-old daughter of Pomeroy was consigned by Brookdale Sales, agent for Hardacre Farm.

Confidently, a 4-year-old War Front filly who is a half-sister to champion Uncle Mo, sold for $560,000 to James Schenck, agent, during Tuesday’s second session of the Keeneland January Horses of All Ages Sale to become the highest-priced horse of the auction.

Glen Hill Farm consigned Confidently, who is out of the Arch mare Playa Maya. She was cataloged as a broodmare prospect.

Grade 3 winner Tiz Breathtaking, a 4-year-old daughter of Tiznow, sold for $375,000 to WinStar Farm a little more than two hours after the start of Tuesday’s second session of the Keeneland January Horses of All Ages Sale.

Eaton Sales, agent for the Estate of William D. Graham (Windhaven Farms), consigned Tiz Breathtaking, who was cataloged as a racing or broodmare prospect. Out of the Elusive Quality mare I’m Breathtaking, she is a half-sister to stakes winner Matador and from the family of Grade 1 winner Shared Account; Grade 2 winners Pok Ta Pok, Sapphire n’ Silk and Shaniko; and Grade 3 winner Colonial Flag.

A yearling filly from the first crop of Mastery sold for $365,000 to Andre Lynch, agent, during Tuesday’s second session of the Keeneland January Horses of All Ages Sale. Royal Oak Farm, agent, consigned the filly, a half-sister to Grade 1 winner Nereid. Her dam is Dowry, by Belong to Me.

Jamie Railton Sales Agency paid $345,000 for a yearling filly by War Front during Tuesday’s second session of the Keeneland January Horses of All Ages Sale.

Eaton Sales, agent, consigned the filly, whose dam is Agreeable Miss, by Speightstown. She is from the family of Grade 2 winner Sweet and Ready.

A colt from the first crop of yearlings by Practical Joke sold to OXO Equine for $320,000 during Tuesday’s second session of the Keeneland January Horses of All Ages Sale.

Brookdale Sales, agent for Vossfield Bloodstock, consigned the colt, who is out of the Dixie Union mare Bayou Miss.

A yearling colt by Candy Ride (ARG) sold for $280,000 to C. Clement, agent, less than two hours after the start of Tuesday’s second session of the Keeneland January Horses of All Ages Sale.

Stuart Morris, agent for Waldorf Farm, consigned the colt, who is a half-brother to stakes winners Filibustin and Indy’s Lady. Out of the Western Cat mare Sweet Aloha, he is from the family of champion Capote and Grade 1 winner Exceller.

A yearling filly by Into Mischief sold for $260,000 to Blue Sky Stables to lead early results of Tuesday’s second session of the Keeneland January Horses of All Ages Sale. Eaton Sales, agent, consigned the filly, a half-sister to Grade 3 winner Sonic Boom. She is out of the Indian Charlie mare Silent Circle.
