Keeneland Sales Graduates Headline Belmont Day Graded Stakes Entries

More than 35 Keeneland sales alumni are competing in graded stakes across North America on a weekend of racing anchored by the Belmont Presented by NYRA Bets (G1).

Four September Yearling Sale graduates go to the post in the $1 million Belmont: Sole Volante, among the early favorites following four wins in six starts, including the Sam F. Davis (G3); Unbridled Stakes winner Dr Post; Withers (G3) winner Max Player and UAE Two Thousand Guineas Sponsored by Masdar (G3) winner Fore Left. 

Keeneland-sold horses also highlight the blockbuster undercard at Belmont on Saturday:

• Gamine tops the field for the Acorn (G1), a prep on the Road to the Kentucky Oaks (G1). Gamine won her career debut by 6¼ lengths at Santa Anita on March 7 followed by an allowance win at Oaklawn on May 2;
• Mischevious Alex, undefeated this year with wins in the Swale (G3) and Gotham (G3); stakes winner No Parole and Echo Town, an allowance winner in last start at Churchill Downs on May 25, face off in the Woody Stephens Presented by Claiborne Farm (G1);
• Stubbins, winner of the Woodford (G2) Presented by Keeneland Select at Keeneland last fall, and Texas Wedge, winner of the Joe Hernandez (G2) and World of Trouble Turf Sprint (L) this season, seek a berth in the Breeders’ Cup Turf Sprint (G1) with a victory in the Jaipur Presented by America’s Best Racing (G1);
• Grade 1 winner Decorated Invader tops the field for the Pennine Ridge (G2); and 
• Sweet Melania, winner of the JPMorgan Chase Jessamine (G2) at Keeneland last fall, makers her season debut in the Wonder Again (G3).
