Keeneland Sales Graduates Malathaat, Shedaresthedevil Headline Kentucky Oaks Day Racing

Keeneland sales alumni are showcased in graded stakes competition on Kentucky Oaks (G1) Day, Friday, April 30 at Churchill Downs.

Undefeated Malathaat, sold for $1.05 million at Keeneland’s 2019 September Yearling Sale and recent winner of the Central Bank Ashland (G1), is the 5-2 morning-line favorite for the $1.25 million Kentucky Oaks. Co-second choice at 3-1 is another September Sale graduate, Search Results, who is perfect in three starts including the Gazelle (G3) on April 3.

Keeneland sales have produced the past four winners of the 1 1/8-mile Kentucky Oaks: champion Abel Tasman (2017), champion Monomoy Girl (2018), Serengeti Empress (2019) and Shedaresthedevil (2020).

Shedaresthedevil, winner of the Azeri (G2) in March, tops the field for the La Troienne (G1) Presented by TwinSpires.com, where she will meet Grade 1 winners and September Sale graduates Dunbar Road and Paris Lights.
