Keeneland September Sale Graduates Sweep Top Three Spots in the Kentucky Oaks

Keeneland September Yearling Sale graduates Shedaresthedevil, Swiss Skydiver and Gamine finished 1-2-3 in the Kentucky Oaks (G1) at Churchill Downs today. Shedaresthedevil won the Oaks in stakes-record time of 1:48.28.

Winner of the Indiana Oaks (G3) and Honeybee (G3), Shedaresthedevil is a graduate of three Keeneland sales. Taylor Made Sales Agency, agent, consigned her as a weanling to the 2017 November Breeding Stock Sale, where she sold for $100,000 to Big Cuse Bloodstock. Warrendale Sales, agent, offered Shedaresthedevil at the 2018 September Sale. At the 2019 November Sale, Flurry Racing Stables purchased the 2-year-old filly, who by then was a Grade 2-placed winner, for $280,000 from the consignment of Hunter Valley Farm, agent. Brad Cox trains Shedaresthedevil for Flurry and co-owners Qatar Racing Limited and Big Aut Farms. WinStar Farm bred the daughter of Daredevil. She was ridden in the Oaks by Florent Geroux. 

Keeneland sales have produced 14 Kentucky Oaks winners since 1994. Shedaresthedevil is the fourth consecutive Keeneland-sold Oaks winner, following champion Abel Tasman (2017), champion Monomoy Girl (2018) and Serengeti Empress (2019). Other notable Keeneland sales alumni to win the race include Racing Hall of Famer Ashado and Belmont (G1) winner and champion Rags to Riches.
