5th race [NY, Md 30000, 7F] – (5) Syl’s Pleasure (B) went five-wide in the turn and finished well for third last month. (9) Moontown debuted in a maiden special weight in February and Linda Rice drops her in for a tag with Jose Lezcano taking over the mount. (2) Sabby Sunset moved from Gulfstream Park to Aqueduct, used early speed to finish third and then second, and now cuts back a furlong. (4) Margaux Treasure was also racing at Gulfstream when last seen in February when she had a troubled trip.
6th race [Woodhaven, 1 mi TURF] – (3) Dream On finished third in the Summer (G1) before running fifth in the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf. This year he won an allowance at Gulfstream before running fifth at Tampa Downs in the Columbia. (1) Septarian won his first two starts on the Mid-Atlantic circuit before changing to the barn of Chad Brown and then was third in the Mucho Macho Man at Gulfstream before trying the Derby trail in the Risen Star (G2). (5) Cairo Caper was a stakes winner at Woodbine on the turf in August and then tried two more stakes before moving to a New York trainer to make his first start of 2025. (6) Tiz Dashing was a debut winner on the grass in October and then missed by a head in the Awad at Aqueduct. This year he ran twice at Gulfstream in a stakes and was third an allowance.
7th race [NY, Md Sp Wt, 6F TURF] – (12) Will of a Womanne (12) broke last in her debut, raced four-wide, and finished second well clear of the rest of the eight-horse field. (1) Long Legged Queen missed by a nose after setting the pace on the grass at Aqueduct. She had a second on the dirt at the Big A against NY-breds. (10) Moonlight Ready had a promising dirt debut in February and has plenty of turf breeding to rely on for his second start. (3) Just Add Water is bred for the grass and makes her first-start. She sold for $220,000 as a yearling from a stallion with a moderate fee.
8th race [NY, Alw 76000 N1X, 7F] – (4) Lady Arwen (A) finished second in her first try in a N3L condition and got claimed for $16,000 last month. She comes back with blinkers on while returning to NY-bred racing for the first time since winning a maiden special weight at Saratoga in 2023. (2) Grace Reformed has a pair of seconds this year in similar spots. (10) Splashy returned to face NY-breds and ran second the whole race last month for Linda Rice. (6) Embraceable Gal finished in the top three in 10 out of her last 11 starts.
Best bets: Dream On (6th); Lady Arwen (8th). Best Value: Syl’s Pleasure (5th); Will of a Womanne (7th).
