1st race [Md Sp Wt, 1 mi] – (2) Undoubtedly made a big improvement in his second start for Bill Mott when she set the pace and finished fourth and ships up to New York after that Gulfstream Park race. (1) Promiseher America also made significant progress in her second race when she got a second-place finish adding a furlong of distance and will do that again. (6) Avant ran her best race in her 2023 debut for Todd Pletcher when she was just a neck behind the second choice described above. (5) La Grotte will get another chance after fading badly in the race same race as the two fillies in the second and third spots. She missed breaking her maiden by a nose back in December.

2nd race [Clm 16000 N2L, 6 ½ F] – (2) Cumberland Blues makes a big drop down after two good races for $40,000 including his maiden breaker. (4) Bourbon’s Hope set the pace and finished third as the favorite in a similar spot. (3) Got the Gold was claimed for $25,000 last month and drops down looking to get a win while probably getting claimed away. (7) Can’t Beat Me has speed figures that fit with the rest of the field and makes his second start after getting claimed.

8th race [NY, Maddie May, 1 mi] – (4) Starry Midnight (B) struggled with kickback in both of her starts including her debut maiden victory. In a NY-bred stakes race last time she dropped back to last and then tried to rally wide on a day when the inside was the place to be. (5) Les Bon Temps won two NY-bred stakes in a row last year and makes her 2023 debut with a change to the barn of Linda Rice. (6) I’mhavingamoment was a winner in his first start for Bill Mott beating a horse that came to win his next start by five lengths. (2) Luna Loca won her las two starts including a maiden and then a starter allowance by more than eight lengths on a sloppy track.

9th race [Clm 25000 N2L, 7F] – (8) Run Devil gets blinkers on after a trio of top three finishes with improving speed figures which came after a two year layoff. (9) New York Supreme missed the win by a nose last time in a similar spot to this. (6) Timed Out returns from an April layoff when she was running well in allowance races and makes her first start for a new barn. (5) Carbon broke her maiden in March at Aqueduct in a NY-bred special weight and then ran well in a series of state-bred allowances.

Best bets:  Undoubtedly (1st); Cumberland Blues (2nd). Best value:  Starry Midnight (8th): Run Devil (9th).
