2nd race [Alw 50000s, 7F] – (7) Heard On Thestreet (C) was bet down from 7-1 to 4-1, finished third, and comes back in two weeks. (3) Master Freud was a very close second in his last two starts in NY-bred first-level allowances. (2) J J’s Joker ran a pair of these starter allowances finishing fourth and third after getting claimed twice against open company. (6) G T Five Hundred was a winner on the artificial surface at Turfway Park by more than eight lengths for a $40,000 tag.

3rd race [NY, Md 40000, 6F] – (2) One Vision (D) was bet down from 5-1 to 3-1 and ran into a sloppy track for the second time and did not run at all. He got claimed and comes back in three weeks. (3) Strand Road dropped into a maiden claimer after a four month layoff, got to the lead, and finished second with his best speed figure. He then tried an open company maiden special weight to no avail. (1) King Phoenix debuted at 3-1 in November, flashed speed, and got claimed for $40,000. He comes back with blinkers on and first-time Lasix. (6) Dead Aim debuted last month in a maiden special weight that featured a very talented horse that is headed to the Kentucky Derby trail.

6th race [NY, OC 80k/N1X, 6 ½ F] – (6) Nina Kay was a debut winner at Aqueduct in September at 9-1 and came back to finish second in a state-bred stakes race behind a horse that is unbeaten in four starts. (1) Carmen’s Candy Jar also won her first start and moved into stakes racing where she hit the board three times against NY-breds. Last month she was fifth in the Demoiselle (G2). (4) Straca broke her maiden by more than six lengths in her third try at Aqueduct against a horse that was a return winner. (7) Princess Mischief moved from her maiden victory in November to run third in a NY Stallion Stakes at the Big A.

7th race [Clm 25000 N2L, 6F] – (7) My Vanilla pressed the pace and finished second at this level last time and as a 3-year-old now she can run with Lasix. (9) Power Driver won her first race in a $50,000 maiden claimer at Delaware Park and then tried a stakes race and an allowance at Laurel Park. (6) Carol Said No won a $30,000 maiden claimer in her fourth try last month and returns with blinkers on and Lasix. (3) Notmysteppinstone was a front running winner by six lengths as a heavy favorite in a $25,000 maiden claimer for NY-breds.

Best bets: Heard On Thestreet (2nd); Nina Kay (6th). Best value: One Vision (3rd); My Vanilla (7th).
