1st race [Clm 50000B, 6 ½ F] – (4) Celestial Glaze (B) set the pace, had the lead in mid-stretch, and was second by a neck. (3) Treaty Obligation was a winner of an open $40,000 claimer at Saratoga and was claimed away from Linda Rice since he raced in three allowance type races. (1) Typhoon Fury moved from turf to dirt and finished third in a similarly conditioned race for a $30,000 tag. (2) Asleep At Eight returns from a November start where he was running well at Finger Lakes.
2nd race [Alw 50000s, 6F] – (3) Sheer Will (A) broke last, got to the lead, but lost by a neck. (6) Vanilla won a $50,000 claimer following a nine-month layoff in her first start after a trainer change to Brittany Russell. (2) Always Practical has been off since September when she won in a similar $50,000 claimer at Aqueduct. (4) Tiz Purple won a N2L claimer for $50,000 in November after getting taken for $40,000.
5th race [Moc 75000C, 1 mi] – (4) My First Dinah (B) was second in her debut as a 44-1 longshot and was well clear of the rest of the field for a trainer that does not win with firsters. (1) Sparkling Mama set the pace and finished second in a similar spot well clear of the rest. (7) Hot Gossip broke her maiden for $50,000 at Churchill Downs in November and was claimed away from Brad Cox. Last seen, she tried the synthetic at Turfway Park. (3) Doppio Espresso moved from turf to dirt and ran second for a $35,000 tag.
8th race [OC 75k/C, 6 ½ F] – (4) Reliable Lady (C) was bet down from 9-1 to 5-1 and used a late rally to finish second in a four-horse blanket finish. (5) With the Angels was second in the Garland of Roses last month and had a first and a second in allowances before that. (8) Cupid’s Heart hit the board three times in a row including a second in a NY-bred stakes last month. (2) My Magic Wand comes back from a June layoff when she won a first-level allowance.
Best bets: Celestial Glaze (1st); Sheer Will (2nd). Best value: My First Dinah (5th); Reliable Lady (8th).
