2nd race [Moc 75000C, 1 mi] – (5) Celestial Body made her second start last month following a short layoff, dropped down to this claiming level, pressed the pace to get the lead, but missed the win by a neck. (4) Good Graces will make her first start for George Weaver who has a 24% win number with debut runners. (3) It’s Carol’s Way gets blinkers on in her second start for a new trainer with a pair of top three finishes showing in Aqueduct maiden special weights. (1) Lucky Lucky Me has a third-place showing in an unrestricted maiden claimer.

5th race [Clm 12500 N2L, 1 mi] – (2) Spirit of Esther missed by a nose at this level after rallying to get the lead then tried a starter allowance. (5) Rogue Justice was a maiden winner for a $20,000 tag in her second start after getting claimed and gets placed in a winning spot. (3) Rose Lisa was a winner against NY-breds in a $40,000 maiden claimer. (6) Cha Cha Wren drops down to the lowest level of her career.

6th race [NY, Alw 35000s, 6F] – (8) Capt Jax Parrow (A/C) was bet down from 9-2 to 5-2 and finished third just a half-length behind at this level when he checked while racing wide and then moved to the inside. (6) Apollo Code got claimed from a win for $25,000 and then was second twice in this kind of NY-bred starter allowance. (1) New York Scrappy got his third win two weeks ago in a $30,000 claimer against open company. (7) Mo for the King was second in his last two races and was claimed for $30,000 two races back and then moved to today’s type of race.

7th race [Clm 16000, 1 mi] – (9) Suerte (D) was bet down from 34-1 to 22-1 and finished eighth after having won a $16,000 claimer the race before. (3) Stolen Base has been racing against much better and was a winner for $40,000 in June. Last seen he was third in a starter allowance in his second race after a layoff. (2) Hours in a Day returned from a layoff and ran twice for $20,000 and was third for the waiver for Linda Rice. (5) Secured Landing won an allowance last month at Penn National for Jamie Ness.

Best bets: Celestial Body (2nd); Spirit of Esther (5th). Best Value: Capt Jax Parrow (6th); Suerte (7th).
