2nd race [NY, Md 40000, 1 mi] – (1) Nightscope (A) was a Linda Rice first-time starter who was sent off at 2-1 two weeks ago, was slow to stride but pressed the pace, and finished second well clear of the rest of the field. (4) Raynham Hall (B) climbed badly in her first dirt start and drops into a claimer for the first time. (2) Hip Hop Dancer had the lead last time in a similar spot and finished second. (5) Roseberns Dream will drop into a maiden claimer for the first time.
3rd race [Alw 50000s, 1 1/8 mi] – (6) Big Dip pressed the pace and finished second by less than a length at this level in her first start in New York last month. (4) Pam Pam won 3 out of her last 5 races in a $25,000 claimer and a pair of starter allowances at Parx Racing. (5) Higher Force won both NY-bred allowances at the end of 2025. (2) Racing Colors had the lead and was second in a similar starter allowance last month.
4th race [Md 20000, 1 1/8 mi] – All but one of the seven horses in this field are NY-breds which under the conditions race for a $25,000 tag. (1) Good Cop (C) was bet down from 4-1 to 2-1 in a race where 4 out of the 7 were NY-breds racing for a $16,000 claiming price and pressed the pace before finishing third. (4) Beck’s Dreamer (B) was claimed from her last two races and in January stumbled badly, lost all chance, and was taken for $12,500. (2) Inonit is one of the NY-breds who was third by a length 18 days ago and gets blinkers on. (3) Lucky Dragon was third in that same race as Inonit.
6th race [Alw 50000s, 1 mi] – (3) Carvellian Quest was an open-length winner and was claimed for $20,000 in January. He moved up to this starter allowance level and twice was in the top three. (1) Morlock won a $30,000 maiden claimer and then was second in a starter allowance with his top speed rating. (2) Twohonestmischief won a NY-bred maiden special weight and then was second in the first level allowance before running behind the top choice. (4) Whiskey N Soda won a pair of open claimers during the winter and was claimed for $20,000 in February.
Best bets: Big Dip (3rd); Carvellian Quest (6th). Best Value: Nightscope (2nd); Good Cop (4th).
