2nd race [Md 20000, 6F] – (3) Melancia hit the board three times including three weeks ago when she finished second in a similar spot as the odds-on favorite. (2) On a Proud Note ships up from Maryland with a second-place finish in her first start following a five month layoff. (5) Teca will drop down in class after a September layoff for Linda Rice and gets first-time Lasix. (7) Just Words was third in her last two races.
4th race [Clm 25000 N2L, 7F] – (1) Aint No Joke won a $20,000 maiden claimer by more than nine-lengths in January in his first start after being claimed by Rice. (3) Mr. Papagiorgio returns from a September layoff and drops in for a tag for the first time since winning a $50,000 maiden claimer. (4) Magical Road ships up from Parx Racing following his first career victory. (6) Majestic Arc broke his maiden for a $20,000 tag and has since been toiling in several N2L races.
5th race [Moc 40000C, 7F] – (1) Into Stardom was second in his debut for Chad Brown in a NY-bred maiden special weight. (3) Calling an Audible pressed the pace, had the lead, and was second at this level last month and overall has eight finishes in the top three. (4) Our Preferred Pal was third last start in a NY-bred maiden special weight. (7) Sounds of Summer was third in his only start at the beginning of March in a similar spot.
7th race [OC 100K/N1X, 1 mi] – (3) Uncle Jim was a debut winner at Keeneland in October as the favorite in an 11-horse field. He was third in an allowance, ran in the Withers (G3), and was claimed after a victory for $50,000 by Linda Rice in February. (1) Uncaged was a debut winner at Saratoga at 5-1. He was fourth in an allowance at Gulfstream Park four weeks ago and gets blinkers on. (5) Toga d’Oro broke his maiden in his second start at Aqueduct at the start of March. (4) On the Mount debuted on the turf for Chad Brown at Gulfstream in February and then won on the dirt at Tampa Downs.
Best bets: Aint No Joke (4th); Into Stardom (5th). Best value: Melancia (2nd); Uncle Jim (7th).
