1st race [Md Sp Wt, 7F] – (1) Britain (C) was bet down from 7-1 to 4-1 and was third in her debut after selling for $1.05 million as a March 2-year-old. (2) Cravings was sent off at 6-1 for her debut last month and makes her second start for a trainer with a 31% win rate with these types. (3) Pomerance is a $700,000 yearling purchase making her first start for Chad Brown. (4) Backstreets ran for the first time in a race where the winner came back to win again.
2nd race [NY, Md Sp Wt, 1 mi] – (2) Off Script hit the board seven times in eight tries and moves back to the dirt. (3) Our Preferred Pal returns to NY-bred competition where she finished second twice. (5) Lady Delilah has lots of experience to draw upon and found an easier field here. (4) Neri is a relatively newcomer in this field of maidens that have had lots of tries to get that first win.
4th race [Clm 17500 N3L, 1 1/8 mi] – (5) Flat On dropped back to this claiming price and improved to finish third. (6) Broderick moved from turf to dirt and won at the N2L condition last time with a front-end effort just 11 days ago. (4) Awesome Empire won at the N2L level for a $30,000 tag and was claimed for $17,500 after dropping down last time. (2) Aleah Aleah makes his third start back after a long layoff having set the pace last time and just got beat at the wire by a head.
8th race [OC 50k/N1X, 1 1/8 mi] – (7) Purloin won a starter allowance last month which came after Linda Rice claimed her for $50,000 from a win in Kentucky in June. (2) Midnight Concerto moved from turf to dirt last time and finished third in the Empire Classic at Aqueduct in October. (4) Danzit won a maiden special weight at Saratoga for Todd Pletcher. (6) Walk With Me won both NY-bred allowance conditions this summer and was last seen finishing third in a state-bred stakes race at Finger Lakes.
Best bets: Britain (1st); Off Script (2nd). Best value: Flat On (4th); Purloin (8th).
